Today marks the actual completion of the first truly "release ready" version of the game. The two new level sets add 51 levels to the game, bringing the total number of levels to 101! I can't believe it. My original goal of 100 levels for Zep's Dreamland (non iPhone version) has finally been reached. It took quite a while! With all of the level sets tucked away, I've released a "beta", for lack of a better term, to a few close friend and family to weed out any last minute problems.
Although it's so close to completion, I'm still not going to set a release date yet. I need to tie up a few loose ends in paper work before I can truly finalize the build and get it ready to throw up on the app store. Everything is coming together. The best part, for me, is that I can finally relax and stop making levels. The process of crafting over 50 new levels for the game has taken just about as much time as it took to port the game to iPhone, including all the new screens and UI components! Good level design is very difficult to get right. Needless to say, I'm so glad the level creation portion is finally done. It will be nice to not open the level editor for an extended period of time.
