Ah, I got some programming done! It feels great to say that. I added more to my "pseudo title screen". Even though it will ultimately get changed later, it still feels good and it's fun to show off to friends.

I also started working on a utility that's going to make my life a lot easier. It's quite simple, in fact. All it really does is take a plain-text file and create a packfile (Allegro's own encrypted, if you want, file format) from the contents of that file. This upcoming project is going to use a lot of plaintext information that I'd rather not users be able to simply change to whatever they'd like, so this utility is going to be perfect for that. I can write my files in plaintext and simply dump them onto my utility program to have them converted into ready to use packfiles.

Writing little robust tools to do simple work is always fun. It's not 100% complete yet, and I still have to make a tool (or option in the current tool) that will reverse the process just in case I need to get back the original for some reason and only have the encrypted packfile version of it.

Moving away from the coding side, I have begun to draw more concept style sketches of elements from the game. To my surprise they are actually coming out quite well and I'm even considering using them in the actual game itself (after some heavy touching up, of course). Pixel-based art has been slow lately, however.

As usual, it's a great feeling to be getting anything at all done. :) Also, please note that one of the Zep's Dreamland appearances has changed. Nostalgic Schtuff has changed hosts and is now known as GROG!

Once again, a lack of posting for almost a month. It's been a hectic time, though. As usual, September brings back the start of classes and I've been having to readjust to that groove. Within that time I have done some programming on my little undercover project. Mostly refactoring a bunch of code and also creating a bunch more modular items. There were also some fixes I needed to make to my DUMB wrapper! This was also a great place to test my logging class a bit more just to ensure that it works flawlessly

I started writing a pseudo title screen for the game. I do know, as a fact, that the real title screen will differ greatly from this one; but I like to have the structure there, I suppose. It has animated goodness in it which is always nice and pleasing to the eye. I just had to start coding something that I could look at and say "Hey, that's cool looking!"

Hopefully now that I'm used to how the days are going to go by here at school, next month I'll be able to get more work done. Oh, right, and especially most of all: post more!
